MY STORY

I started by devouring Lee J. Ames’ “Draw 50” series.  Since then, I have tried to learn from every book I can.  My art book collection is now approaching 900 books!  A couple of years ago I found Flo and the world of digital art opened up to me.  I love art and do it whenever I can!  I am life long learner and Flo’s tutorials help me relax after a full day of work — teaching 14-year olds and coaching high school diving!
My advice is to do what you love.  Find a style you like (I like hyper realism) and do as many tutorials as you can.  Learn new techniques and start to create your own style but don’t forget to push your boundaries and try new styles every once-in-awhile.

I was hooked after following this tutorial!

This was the first tutorial of Flo’s that I tried.  I had an iPad for a long time but had just discovered Procreate.  I opened it up and I remember thinking “Where is everything? How do I use this crazy app that everyone apparently loves?” I had no clue what to do.  I stumbled upon Flo’s “Candy Cane” tutorial.  (I have no idea how as I was pretty new to YouTube as well.)  It looked somewhat manageable so I gave it a try.  I was so impressed with the result!  Instead of giving up on Procreate and digital art, I was hooked on Procreate and hooked on Flo!
